NCS: More oil in the NOAKA area

Even before completion of drilling, Aker BP announced that the Liatårnet exploration well proved oil with a gross resource estimate of 80-200 MMboe recoverable.

The encouraging results of well 25/2-21, located in the North of Alvheim Krafla Askja, in the Norwegian North Sea, represents one step forward in Aker BP’s ambition to develop NOAKA as the first energy positive zero emissions hub platform on the NCS.

The NOAKA area consists of Frigg Gamma Delta, Langfjellet, Frøy, Fulla, Frigg, Rind and Askja-Krafla discoveries, with estimated gross resources to be more than 500 MMboe.

Aker BP recommends developing NOAKA with a new hub platform/PQ concept, which would ensure production from all discoveries in the area,  as well as high resource recovery and important socio-economic benefits.
