The primary exploration target for the Hornet Main prospect was to prove petroleum in reservoir rocks from the Middle Jurassic Hugin and Sleipner Fms. 15/6-16 S encountered 10 m of Hugin Fm, out of which 5 m was of poor-quality sandstone layers, and 95 m of Sleipner Fm, including 25 m of sandstone layers of moderate to poor quality.
The secondary target was to prove petroleum in reservoir rocks from the Late Triassic Skagerrak Fm. The well was drilled 80 m into the Skagerrak Fm, with sandstone layers totalling 25 m with poor to moderate reservoir quality.
Hornet Main had pre-estimated resources between 14-137 MMboe.
