On offer: virtual field schools

A series of ‘virtual field schools’ will be hosted by TCIE through the fall of 2020, incorporating SAFARI Virtual Outcrop data led by Professor John Howell.

In the light of current restrictions on travel and the need for social distancing, TCIE (Technical Committee Improved Exploration) have decided to offer FORCE members and non-members the opportunity to attend a series ‘virtual field schools’ through the fall of 2020.

It will be running four, one hour-long, virtual field trips, incorporating SAFARI Virtual Outcrop data led by Professor John Howell (SAFARI PI at the University of Aberdeen).

The first session on fluvial outcrops will take place on Tuesday 8th September, starting at 2 pm CET. You can still register for this event through this link.

Logistics

You will be viewing world-class virtual outcrops augmented with subsurface data, modern analogues and reservoir models from around the globe in purpose-built virtual outcrop software (Lime). The material will be delivered via ZOOM: Hyperlinks and passwords will be sent to you upon registration.

How a webinar works

You register as usual through this link. Once you are registered you will get an invitation via email to join this webinar. FORCE uses Zoom Video for this webinar, and has proven to work successfully. It is NOT allowed to share the Zoom link and password.

It is recommend that everyone joining turn off their camera and microphone when joining. If you have any questions you can use the chat or wait until the end of the talk.

FORCE seminars have previously been fully booked with waiting lists so you are encouraged to sign up as soon as you know you will attend.

Non-members: NOK 350,-
University/student: Free

Payment is made online by credit card. Please note that no refunds will be given after you have signed up.
If you for any reason can not attend the workshop, you are welcome to send a representative, just inform Linn Smerud as soon as there are changes.
