UKCS: Major investments into Shell‘s North Sea operations

Shell’s UK North Sea business will benefit from important upgrades, as giant Dutch operator decided to pump billions into development.

Shell’s CEO, Ben van Beurden, declared that the conventional oil and gas exploration in Shell globally has been revised and significantly rejuvenated. The company has the means to invest in high-quality operations and development in all regions.

In the coming years, Shell will invest and redevelop different infrastructures on the UKCS fields, such as the Penguins, Arran and Fram. The company now holds 30% stake in the Cambo field (acquired from Siccar Pont) on the Clair Ridge, estimated to contain more than 800 MMboe.
